Ashburn is a large community covering five square miles on the southwest side of the city of Chicago. It is located approximately 10 miles from the Loop. The community was originally an area for early Chicagoans to dump their furnace and fireplace ashes, hence the name.
Real estate in Ashburn consists primarily of reasonably-priced, cape cod and raised ranch style single-family homes. These properties are typically brick and well-maintained. There are few condominium units available for sale in the Ashburn community.
