Edgewater is a far-northside lakefront community in Chicago located seven miles from the Loop. It is home to an impressive group of lakefront high-rise condominium buildings, Hollywood Beach, and the diverse Andersonville neighborhood.

In the 1920's and 30's, Edgewater was an affluent community known for the pink Edgewater Beach Hotel located along Lake Michigan. Many celebrities of the day, such as Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra, stayed at the hotel while in Chicago and big bands led by Benny Goodman and Tommy Dorsey performed there. The hotel was closed in 1967 but remains as a co-op.

Edgewater also boasts an impressive lakefront skyline comprised of high-rise condominiums along Sheridan Road. Many of these condo buildings have private beaches and spectacular lake views yet can be reasonably priced.

Andersonville is one of the hottest neighborhoods in the city. Originally founded by Swedish immigrants, its charming commercial district of locally-owned stores and restaurants has been featured in movies and on television. In recent years, there has been an influx of urban professionals and hipsters into Andersonville making it one of the "places to be" on the North Side.
