Gage Park is a middle-class, southwest Chicago community located 7 miles from the Loop. It is also only two miles from Midway Airport making commuting to the city on the CTA Orange Line a possibility.

Due to its proximity to railroad lines, in the first part of the 20th century Gage Park was the home to many manufacturing employers such Royal Crown Cola and World's Finest Chocolate. While manufacturing has subsided somewhat in Gage Park, the area maintains an industrial atmosphere.

There are many affordable single-family housing opportunities in Gage Park with brick and frame ranch homes being the dominant architecture. There are few, if any, condominiums for sale in the area.
